Historical Sports Venues

The Midland Sports Hall of Fame since it’s beginning has honoured builders, athletes and teams. Each of these categories are well represented in the Midland Hall. The board of governors discussed how all these inductees had been active in numerous venues during their time. It was within these venues that they played, practiced and developed their abilities. Without these buildings or facilities there would have been very few athletes, builders or teams able to develop their skills and growth as an individual or member of a team.

At some point back in 1997 the board discussed adding a new category to the hall which was aptly labelled Historic Sports Venues. This addition to the Hall of Fame nicely rounds out the hall and brings deserving attention to the many facilities used by many people in our area. To date we have recognized a total of seven historic venues.
