Stephen Bell is being inducted into the Midland Sports Hall of Fame in the category of Athlete for his accomplishments in a variety of sports. He was a champion in the sports of Hockey, Ball Hockey, Golf, Volleyball and cross-country running. He participated in local, regional, provincial, national and international events.
In hockey, he played in the Midland Minor Hockey system, eventually graduating to the Midland Junior C Flyers after a short stint in Orillia. Along the way, he was part of the Novice OMHA Champions and Bantam Regional Silver Stick Gold medalist as team captain. He then moved on to Orillia to be part of the North Simcoe Predators system and achieved success at the Major Midget level, winning Gold at the Columbus Day Clash Tournament in Pittsburgh, PA, along with numerous silver medals in various tournaments.
